Cancer is a large group of diseases that can start in almost any organ or tissue of the body when abnormal cells grow uncontrollably, go beyond their usual boundaries to invade adjoining parts of the body and/or spread to other organs via lymphatic vessels or blood stream. Cancer cells also usually form a mass called tumour.

2. Types of cancers
Now, let's go for types of cancer. As you all know, the types of cancers are really broad. Therefore, we will divide them into two categories. It is Leukemia and solid cancers as two divided groups.
Firstly, let's start with Leukemia.
Lymphocyctic Leukemia which starts in Lymphocytic cells can be divided into two types: chronic one and acute one. Lymphocytic Leukemia begins to grow in Lymphocytic cells in bone marrow and can spread uncontrollably to other body parts. Though it's quite common in children, chronic type is mostly found in elderly people. Chronic patients didn't experience any symptoms in the early years .
Secondly, also in Myelogenous Leukemia that starts from Myelogenous cells inside the bone marrow and spread rapidly to other parts , there are 2 types: acute and chronic.
Next, we'll head for solid cancers. It is absolutely broad as well. These below are lists of solid cancers just to mention a few.
ððŒcolon cancer ððŒprostate cancer
ððŒlung cancer ððŒbreast cancer
ððŒbrain cancer ððŒPancreatic cancer
ððŒskin cancer ððŒkidney cancer
ððŒliver cancer ððŒEsophagal cancer
From here, we'll tell u about the prevalent cancer types in men and women
The common types in men is to be first.
ðLiver cancer
Liver cancer can be said as a malignant cancer. In other words, it is acute. Hepatitis B and C virus the major risk factor.
Causes:
-hepatitis and C virus
-Type 2 diabetes
-Alcohol and tobacco consumption
-Exposure to chemicals
-Obesity
Compared with women, as men are more likely to be exposed to such things than women, liver cancer is quite common in men.
Now is the turn for women.
ðBreast cancer
It's kinda a disease in which abnormal breast cells grow uncontrollably. It all starts inside the milk-producing lobules of the breasts. Though early stage is not that challenging, later on it will spread to the other parts. The possibility of breast cancer in women is about 99% while it is 1% in men.
Causes:
ðadvancing in years
ðDrinking alcohol
ðUsing tobacco
ðgenetic factors
ðExposure to radiation
ðbad personal hygiene

The chances of survival vary significantly based on the type and stage at diagnosis.
The five-year survival chance across all stages approximately
For breast cancer, 90%
For Lung cancer, 21 %
For prostate cancer, overall 98%
For colorectal cancer, overall 64%.
These survival rates highlight the importance of early detection and treatment.
The spread rates of cancer, or how quickly and widely cancer cells metastasize, vary significantly among different types of cancer.
On average, breast cancers double in size about every 6 months. Exprets say it takes approximately three to six months for most lung cancers to double in size. Prostate cancer is relatively slow-growing, taking years to become large enough to be detectable.
Approximately 35 percent of colorectal cancers are diagnosed before the cancer has spread beyond the site of origin.
Understanding the spread rates of these cancers underscores the importance of early detection and monitoring.
Breast and prostate cancers generally have favorable prognoses with high survival rates when caught early. Lung cancer and advanced colorectal cancer tend to have poorer prognoses, underscoring the importance of early diagnosis and treatment advancements.

4. Causes of cancers
There is not one single cause for cancer but it is the interaction of many factors. These are risk factors that don't necessarily cause cancer but increase the chances of developing one.
ð Genetic factors- genetic inheritance, genetic disorders. Most cancers aren't hereditary but some people have inherited faulty genes that increase the risk.
ð Lifestyle factors - Smoking, high fat diet, obesity, alcohol, lack of exercise and working with toxic chemicals are examples of lifestyle factors.
ð Environmental factors- UV exposure, air pollution, chemicals, radiation, infections.
ð Age is also a risk factor as our immune system gets weaker with age.

6. Diagnosis
A diagnosis is when doctors figure out what illness you have based on your symptoms and test results. Cancer is a complex disease that can present in various ways, making it difficult to diagnose.
Doctors use several tests to diagnose cancer:
Imaging Tests-X-rays, CT scans, and MRIs help doctors see inside the body to look for tumours.
ðLab Tests ððŒ Blood and urine tests can detect signs of cancer.
ðBiopsy ððŒ A small tissue sample is taken and examined under a microscope to confirm if itâs cancer.
ðEndoscopy ððŒ A thin tube with a camera is used to look inside the body.
ðGenetic Testing ððŒ Tests for specific gene changes that might indicate cancer risk.
These tests help doctors determine if a person has cancer and what type it is, which is essential for planning the right treatment.

ðeating a healthy diet, including fruit, veggies, whole grains, lean meat and high-protein foods
(make sure not to eat any raw or undercooked and unpasteurized foods during chemotherapy)
ðavoiding or reducing consumption of food with nitrosamines such as alcohol, processed meats , hot dogs, and sausages as much as you can
ðgetting vaccinated against HPV and hepatitis B
ðavoiding ultraviolet radiation exposure from the sun and/or using sun protection measures like putting on long-sleeve shirts or long pants and sunscreen
ðknowing your family history

8. Treatment options
The most common cancer treatments are surgery, chemotherapy and radiation.
ðSurgery
It is a common treatment for many types of solid cancer. Sometimes, surgery is done to relieve side effects caused by cancer.
ðChemotherapy
Chemotherapy uses anti-cancer( cytotoxic drugs) to destroy cancer cells. Cytotoxic drugs disrupt cancer cell division and growth rate but they also affect some of the healthy and rapidly dividing cells in the body.
ðRadiation
Radiation therapy uses beams of intense energy(X-rays) and radioactive particles to kill cancer cells. Radiation therapy can help reduce the size of some tumours. It damages cancer cells by destroying their genetic materials( DNA) .
ðImmunotherapy
Immunotherapy uses our own immune system to fight against cancer. Our body system occupies tumour immunity and immunotherapy works by helping the immune system recognize and attack cancer cells.
ðHormonal therapy
Hormonal therapy is used to treat cancers that are fueled by hormones such as breast , prostate and ovarian cancers. This helps slow the growth of cancer cells and is given combined with surgery or chemotherapy.
ðChimeric Antigen-receptor T cell therapy (CAR-T therapy)
It is a highly complex and a new type of cancer treatment that uses the immune system to kill cancer cells. Patient's own T cells are collected and genetically altered to recognize and fight cancer cells. These T cells are then fused back to the patient. CAR-T cell therapy is available for certain types of leukaemia and lymphoma.
